INTROB | Introduction to Aeroplanes for Kids (Ages 9-12)
Is there a young person in your life who can’t stop looking at aeroplanes? As children, many of today’s professional pilots had their heads tilted firmly towards the sky. Indulge a child’s passion for aeroplanes by bringing them to a lively interactive session. While intended for children between the ages of 9 and 12, there is no age verification requirement and all children are welcome at the parent or legal guardian’s discretion.
This session is a gentle introduction to aeroplanes, exploring what they are and involving a discussion about how (we think) they fly; using colourful and engaging graphics and illustrations on a large screen. If weather permits the session will end with a walk outside on the apron, where children can view parts of the aeroplane previously discussed.
The hour will be divided into two 30 minute (approx.) sessions with a short break in-between.
Water, as well as light refreshments and snacks will be available during the session. Tea and coffee will be available in the main building before and after the session.
All children must be accompanied by a parent, legal guardian or an adult authorised by their parent or legal guardian at all times.
Costs & Materials
The total cost of this course is $10 per child. There is no extra cost for any adult(s) accompanying a child.

The session will be conducted in Classroom 1, which is the large classroom upstairs in the elevated white building that stands beside the Waikato Aviation main (red brick) building. There is no need to enter the main club building on arrival, please use the external staircase to access the classroom.
Session Times
All sessions will begin at the published start time, so please ensure you aim to be on-site 15 minutes prior to the start time to help facilitate a timely start. Sessions will not go over the published end time, however they may on some occasions finish earlier than scheduled.
